Capture what you annotated
Open the Export panel and choose what to capture: the whole viewport, or drag to select an area of the page. Highlite takes the screenshot with every highlight, note, drawing, arrow and shape rendered in place, at your screen resolution. Then pick a destination: download it as a PNG file, or copy it to the clipboard and paste it straight into Slack, Jira, Linear, email or a document. Both are free and need no account.
Send to Slack and export the annotations (Premium)
Premium adds destinations that skip the paste step. Send the screenshot to a Slack channel from the panel, with an optional comment, without leaving the page. Or export the annotations themselves, not just a picture of them, as a JSON file: anyone with Highlite can import that file on the same page to get the same highlights, notes and drawings back, editable. Importing is free for everyone, so a Premium user can hand a file to a teammate on the free plan.
What sharing means in Highlite
Highlite shares the result of your review, not a live workspace. Annotations are made in your browser, stay there, and go out only when you capture or export them. That keeps the tool private by default and removes the account, invite and workspace setup that hosted feedback tools require. The trade-off is that there is no shared page where several people annotate together.
What sharing & export does not do
- There is no shared canvas or real-time collaboration: teammates do not see your annotations on their own screen. What you share is a screenshot, or a JSON file they import.
- Screenshots capture the visible viewport or a selected area, not the full scrolling page in one image.
- Slack is the only integration. There is no direct export to Jira, Linear, Notion, Trello, Figma or email; paste the screenshot from the clipboard instead.
- JSON export and sending to Slack require Premium and a Highlite account. Neither is available on the Edge build yet, and the Slack destination is not on the Firefox build yet.
- There is no public link to an annotated page, no comment threads and no notification when someone views what you shared.
