How to send annotated screenshots to Slack

Steps
- Annotate the page and open the Export panel with Export or Ctrl+Shift+E (Cmd+Shift+E on Mac).
- Under Capture, choose Viewport, Full page or Selection.
- Under Destination, click Slack. Without Premium, a lock shows on the button and the upgrade screen opens.
- The first time, click Connect Slack and approve the connection in the Slack window that opens.
- Under Channel, pick one from Select a channel…, and type a note in Add a comment (optional) if you want one.
- Click Send screenshot. The button shows Sent to Slack ✓ once the image is posted.
If a channel is missing or sending fails
Highlite posts through its Slack app, which has to be a member of the channel. Add the Highlite app to the channel from Slack, then try again. Use Disconnect in the Slack panel to switch to another workspace.
The free way to get a screenshot into Slack
Without Premium, choose Copy to clipboard as the destination and paste the image into any Slack message with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac). It takes one more step and gives the same image.
Limitations
- Sending to Slack requires Premium and a Highlite account (Google sign-in).
- The Slack destination is not available on the Firefox or Edge builds yet. Use Copy to clipboard there.
- Slack is the only direct integration. For Jira, Linear, Notion or email, copy the screenshot and paste it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send Highlite screenshots to Slack for free?
Yes, by copying: choose Copy to clipboard in the Export panel and paste the image into Slack. Posting straight to a channel from Highlite is a Premium feature.
Do people in the Slack channel need Highlite?
No. They receive an ordinary image in the channel, with your comment if you added one.
Why is the Slack option missing in Firefox?
The Slack destination is not available on the Firefox build yet. Copy the screenshot to the clipboard and paste it into Slack instead.
