What Highlite does on Edge
Edge is built on Chromium, so Highlite runs there with the same toolbar as on Chrome: text highlighting, sticky notes, text boxes, freehand drawing, arrows and shapes, any color, four sizes, undo and redo. Annotations are saved in Edge, tied to the page URL, and restored when you return. Capture the viewport, the full scrollable page or a selected area, then download the PNG or copy it to the clipboard.
Installed from Edge Add-ons
Highlite has its own listing on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store, so you install it from there with one click and it updates automatically. You can also install the Chrome Web Store version in Edge if you prefer; both are the same extension.
Premium on Edge
The Edge build supports a Highlite account and the full Premium plan, as on Chrome: sign in with Google, send an annotated screenshot to Slack, Discord or your own webhook from the toolbar and export the annotations of a page as Markdown or as a JSON file. Importing a JSON file is free on every browser.
Limitations on Edge
- Highlite cannot run on browser-internal pages (edge://) or on extension store pages; the icon is grayed out there.
- Annotations are stored in this browser profile only. They are not synced to another device or another browser, and uninstalling the extension deletes them.
- Annotations are positioned on the page as it was laid out when you made them. A page that renders differently later, or content generated dynamically, can shift or lose an annotation.
